COSMIC GARDENS

Cosmic Gardens exhibition with Chashama, Was an art exhibition presented at 1285 2nd Avenue, NYC in April 2022. The art exhibit was an exploration of the idea of a Cosmic Garden which was represented by paintings made on paper and textile materials continuing the drawings in the space while the space was open. I, the artist, used the space as a: studio, transformative installation, store and a place to connect with other people. I was going there from Thursday to Sunday from 12:00pm to 8:00pm and I never left the space while I was there. I was painting on paper or drawing with strings in the walls and people were entering, sometimes interacting with me and sometimes not. From these visits I met Jenny Shadrina who collaborated with me to give free art classes to families on a weekend. I also met Nathalien Siegel who created some poems and gave me some textile commissions. Finally I started the exhibition with a story about the exhibition space and ended up with many more which will be continued…

These are individual paintings made with gesso, ink, gouache and markers over paper and they form a paper mural called Cosmic Seeds.
